This policy explains cookies and similar technologies in connection with skinsranked.com and how to manage them. Contact: contact@skinsranked.com.
What cookies do
A cookie is a small file stored by a browser. Cookies can maintain a technical session, remember a choice, or associate visits with an identifier. Session cookies are intended to last for a browsing session; persistent cookies have a configured expiry and may be deleted earlier through browser settings.
Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, scripts, and device identifiers. A tool can store or access information without using a conventional cookie. The same transparency and consent principles can apply to these technologies.
The current editorial service
SkinsRanked provides articles and reviews without reader registration. There are no account login cookies for a SkinsRanked reader account. We do not operate affiliate attribution tracking, referral conversion reporting, or targeted advertising.
Technical cookies may be involved in delivering pages, protecting the service from abuse, or retaining a privacy choice. Such uses must be limited to the function concerned. A business interest in measuring readers or advertising does not by itself make a technology strictly necessary.
Essential and optional purposes
A technology that is strictly necessary for a service you request can operate without consent where the applicable rules permit it. Examples include technical session handling and security checks. Browser controls can still block cookies, but doing so may affect the requested function.
Analytics, preference tools, and externally supplied content can involve additional purposes. If optional technologies requiring consent are introduced, we will identify the providers, purposes, information involved, and storage duration when asking for permission. They must not activate before the required choice.
Consent and withdrawal
Reading a policy, scrolling, or continuing to browse does not constitute consent. Where optional technologies require consent, acceptance must be a clear choice, with a way to refuse and to withdraw permission. Information and controls must be available when the technology is offered.
If a consent control is provided for an optional service, use that control to change your choice. Withdrawal stops the affected consent-based storage, access, and processing. It does not make previous lawful processing unlawful. Relevant deletion requests and notifications to recipients are handled in accordance with applicable law. Browser deletion may also be needed for files that the site cannot directly remove.
Duration and personal information
Cookies can expire at the end of a session or remain until a configured expiry. Browser and security settings can affect their actual lifetime. There is no single retention period that applies to every cookie or similar technology. Any optional service introduced will be accompanied by information about its particular duration.
The lifetime of a cookie is separate from the period for which resulting personal information is kept. Our Privacy Policy explains retention criteria, legal bases, recipients, and privacy rights. Technical identifiers can be personal information even if they do not display your name.
Control through your browser
You can inspect, block, and delete cookies or other site data in your browser’s privacy or site settings. Consult the official help for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or the browser you use. Clearing stored data may remove preferences and require them to be selected again.
Browser settings apply to that browser and device unless the browser provides synchronisation. Cookie blocking alone does not necessarily prevent every script, pixel, or other form of information collection. An optional service’s own controls, where provided, are distinct from browser settings.
External links
Following a link opens a service controlled by its own provider, which may use cookies under its own policy. A normal outbound link is different from affiliate attribution tracking. Check the destination’s privacy and cookie information before using its services.
Updates and contact
We will update this page when the technologies used on SkinsRanked change and provide the information and choices required before introducing a new optional purpose. For questions about cookies or personal information, email contact@skinsranked.com.
